In gift groups, people ask what to get their husband or boyfriend for his birthday, Valentine’s Day or another special occasion. In the other kind, psychology groups, men themselves look for advice through difficult moments in life.

How it works

From download
to your first note

You’ll need two Android phones (one each), a Google account for each of you, and a few minutes.

Download and pick your role

You both install the Meilė Tau app and sign in with Google. One of you writes the notes, and the other receives them.
Connect as a couple

The writer sends an invite link. Your partner just opens it or enters the code, and you’re connected.
Add the widget

The reader adds the widget to their home screen. Each new day brings a new note.
Write and get a reaction

Write a note for today or schedule a few ahead. Your partner reacts with an emoji, and you see it right away.

What does “Meilė Tau” mean?

It’s Lithuanian for “love to you”. The app was created in Lithuania by a wife who wanted to make a meaningful gift for her husband, so the name stayed in the language it was born in. You say it like “MAY-leh TOW”.

Who writes the notes and who receives them?

In each couple, one partner is the writer, who writes and schedules the notes. The other is the reader, who finds a new note in their home screen widget every day and can react with an emoji. You choose your role the first time you open the app.

How much does Meilė Tau cost?

You can start writing notes for free right away. When your partner joins, all features are free for 7 days (the free trial is available once per person). After that, the reader still gets a ready-made note in the widget every day and can react to it, and the writer can see the ready-made notes and the reader’s reactions. Writing your own notes and scheduling them ahead requires a Premium subscription (monthly or yearly). The exact price is shown in the app in your local currency before you buy anything.

What if I miss a day?

No problem. Every day of the year already has a ready-made note, so your partner’s widget is never empty. You can go back to writing your own notes whenever you like — no pressure, no guilt.

Do the ready-made notes repeat next year?

The ready-made notes cover every day of the year. They may repeat in the following year, and new sets may be added in future updates. The most meaningful notes are the ones you write yourself.

Can I look back at past notes?

Yes. The writer’s calendar shows the whole year — past notes and the ones scheduled ahead — so you can look back anytime.

Does it work if we live in different countries?

Yes. Meilė Tau is made for all couples, even those separated by long distances and different time zones.

Is Meilė Tau really private?

Yes. Your notes are visible only to the two of you. You can read how we protect your data in our Privacy Policy.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not at the moment. Meilė Tau works on Android phones and is available on Google Play, so both partners need an Android phone.
